The England Cricket Team maybe the top ranked Test playing nation in the world according to the ICC Test rankings but if there was any ranking allotted for courting controversy, one can be pretty sure that The Three Lions would not be too far off the pace at that as well.

And this comes in the wake of the latest controversy that the finds itself in and this time, the main culprit is none other than the repeat offender Kevin Pietersen. The South African born middle order batsman used the popular social networking site Twitter to question the credentials of Nick Knight, a former Test cricketer for England as a Test commentator on Sky Sports.

And as a result, Test captain Andrew Strauss has had to take matter into his own hands and warn his team mates about the dangers of the social networking site, even going to the extent of labeling as a double edged sword. Nick Knight, who played just 17 Test matches for the England Cricket Team with an average of just over 23 and just one Test hundred to his name is contracted to comment on the ongoing Test series between England and the West Indies.

But Pietersen questioned the appointment of Knight due to his lack of experience and knowledge of the Test arena, having previously taken to Twitter and accusing Knight of ‘stealing his living’. Pietersen did, however, mention that he had nothing against Sky Sports which has legends like Sir Ian Botham, Michael Atherton and David Gower, all legends of the England Cricket Team in its commentating team.

But Strauss is wary that this latest controversy might just distract the all conquering Three Lions and might just give the West Indies a chance to steal a march in the second Test match of the series.
